About the Pakistan Peoples Party

پاکستان پیپلز پارٹی کا تعارف

Founded in Lahore in 1967, the Pakistan Peoples Party is one of Pakistan's oldest and largest democratic movements. This is who we are and what we stand for.

Who we are

The Pakistan Peoples Party was founded in Lahore on 30 November 1967 under the leadership of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto. From its first convention in this city, the party grew into a national movement that has shaped Pakistan's constitution, its federation and its democratic politics for more than half a century.

Today the party is led by Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. The Lahore Division chapter organises party workers across ten towns, 433 union councils and thirteen allied wings, from ward organisers to divisional office bearers.

Islam is our faith. Democracy is our politics. Socialism is our economy. All power to the people. Founding principles, 1967
